In New Brunswick, Registered Midwives are part of the Horizon Health team and are covered by medicare.

The Midwifery Council of New Brunswick (Council) is the governing and regulatory body that oversees the registration and practice of midwifery in the province.

The Fredericton Midwifery Centre is the only midwifery clinic in New Brunswick. Separate from both the association and the council, the clinic provides midwifery services and is part of the Horizon Health Network.
